Dave Cotton is a news anchor at KHQ-TV. He is currently the station’s Main Interactive Anchor in charge of weekday webcasts on KHQ.com and social media content distribution. Previously, from 2001 to 2011, Dave co-anchored KHQ’s top-rated morning news program.  Prior to arriving in Spokane, Dave was a sports anchor/reporter at CNN International in Atlanta, GA, and served as a news anchor with CNN Headline News.  A native of Spencer, Iowa, Dave is a graduate of Luther College (Decorah, Iowa) and is a member of the Luther College Athletic Hall of Fame. Dave holds a master's degree in Sports Management from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., where he began his career in journalism as a sports feature writer for the city's newspaper, the Springfield Union-News.  Dave volunteers his time with the YMCA of the Inland Northwest, and Meals on Wheels Spokane - the beneficiary of Dave’s annual charity golf tournament – the Cotton Classic. Dave also serves as an Honorary Commander at Fairchild Air Force Base.
In his spare time he enjoys golf with friends, biking, a good movie, and long walks with his wife Monique, who is in the Director of Communication for Hutton Settlement Children’s Home and a strategic communication consultant. They have three children: two Boston Terrier puppies - Willie and Winnie; and a cat - Betty.
